INTERPRETING

Don't mix up interpreting with translation. INTERPRETING is a live and spontaneous SPOKEN rendition from one language to another. You may wish for me to interpret for you in one of the following scenarios

• face to face meetings
• meetings with French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Catalan speaking visitors
• conferences
• telephone interpreting

Simultaneous interpreting is popular at conferences, the interpreter is normally part of a team and works in a booth with headphones.

Whispered interpreting or chuchotage involves the interpreter sitting next to or immediately behind the listener whilst whispering into their ear.

MY SPECIALISMS

My specialisms include criminal justice, automotive and football.

I have extensive experience in the criminal justice system, having worked in the Old Bailey, Birmingham Crown Court and many other legal settings across the UK.

I also have extensive automotive sector experience, having worked for most major UK vehicle manufacturers. References are available on request.

In football, I have worked with Wolves, West Bromwich Albion, Flamengo do Rio and Espanyol de Barcelona - although I was never asked to play.

Since COVID, a large part of interpreting has moved online, including Zoom and Microsoft Teams calls. My home office set-up is suitable for remote interpreting assignments anywhere in the world.
